Here are a list of things that I’ll be up to this year – adding more dates for demos and teaching stuff all the time so I’ll try to update them here.
Wednesday 21st June – Pop-up at Cragg Sisters Tea Room, 110 High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk IP15 5AB
The Mistress of Tea, Emma, will be looking after you as I cook away in the kitchen in this fab place on Aldeburgh High St. As before it’s a BYO evening on alcohol – a great opportunity to experience some fab seasonal Suffolk produce! 7 for 730pm, £30 per head. Friday 23rd June – Vegan pop-up at Applaud, St Peter’s Street, Ipswich
The second pop-up here at Applaud, This one is aimed at all the vegans (and lapsing meat eaters!), the menu is HERE, tickets only again, 7 for 730pm, £35 per person. As before it’s a BYO evening on alcohol – a great opportunity to experience some fab Suffolk produce and perhaps try something a bit different from the usual vegan fare! Friday 28th July – Barbecue pop-up at Applaud, St Peter’s Street, Ipswich
The third pop-up here at Applaud, departing from the vegan-ness of June’s event, this one is barbecue and due the weather being fab will be cooked out in the courtyard, the menu is HERE, tickets only again, £35 per person, 7 for 730pm, . Much more a mingling and enjoying a long, relaxing summer evening affair – again, it’s a BYO evening on alcohol. Sunday 20th August – Curing & smoking workshop at Mersea Island Cookery School
Learn how to make your own cured and smoked meats and fish. I’ll take you through the science behind it & then the process of curing, hot and cold smoking, and how to build your own smoker at home – yes, we’ll be knocking up a makeshift smoker! Check out more details and book HERE
Wednesday 6th September – Sushi workshop at Mersea Island Cookery School
Spend the day with the me and learn how to make sushi. I’ll be providing all the gubbins and walking you through the basics, at the end of the day you’ll have the basic knowledge to make lush sushi by yourself at home! THE GREAT OUTDOORS – I’ll be on stage knocking out a few lovely food demos – fermented stuff, sushi, street food all coming up on the beautiful Hawarden Estate in North Wales. As well as some fabbo jerked chicken chandelier on the Friday night….
Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September – The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival. One of the best food festivals around – I’ll be doing workshops & demos. And the odd compere.
Tuesday 26th September at Mersea Island Cookery School – British Sausages with Mike Keen!
Taking part in the British Food Fortnight initiative, we are showing our love for British food with one of nation’s most favourite foods, the sausage. Learn how to make your own proper sausages. I’ll be whipping out my sausage machine and taking you through the process of selecting the meat and spices to make and fill a selection of sausages. You’ll then cook some classic British sausage dishes with a twist or two. Lunch, refreshments and course material are included in the price, all you need to bring is a good size cool bag or similar to take your sausages away and enjoy at home. Thursday 28th September – British Fish and Seafood with Mike Keen
Taking part in the British Food Fortnight initiative, we are showing our love for British fish and seafood. We’ll go through the different stages of preparing and cooking a delicious 3 course lunch, focusing on British Fish and Seafood and let you into tricks of the trade. Details will be posted soon HERE
